Highlight for the Month of June

1.  Day Retreat - A day of Meditation and Dhamma Dialogue with Sayalay Susila

    • Date: June 13 and 27, July 11 and 25
    • Objectives: Seeking spiritual direction, inspiration, and renewal
    • Venue: Main Hall, Bodhi Heart Sanctuary
    • Time: 0900am - 0500am
    • Profile:
      • Sayalay is one of the more senior nun in Malaysia with more than 20 over vassa. She spend a great deal of time in Burma learning from various reknown teachers. She was just back from months of intensive meditation retreat in Pa Auk Monastery. She is competent in meditation techniques as well as in the study and realization on Abhidhamma.
      • She also published a couple of Dhamma books and numerous CD relating to the meditation practise.
      • She has facilitate meditation retreats in America and Europe for a number of years. She has also taught in many Buddhist organizations across Malaysia and Singapore. She is fluent in both Mandarin and English.

      • It will be wonderful if you could attend all four sessions as it is a series.

      • You may observe the 8 or 5 Precepts during the sessions
      • Be comfortable and conservative in your attire - any color will do

2.  Mindfulness Engagement Day (MED) 
    • Date: Third Sunday of each month, - June 20, July 18
    • Objectives:
      • Meditation - nurturing mental wellbeing and skillful attitude, inspiring emotional fulfillment and engagement
      • Education - informing on spiritual alternatives and paradigm, unlearning and relearning spiritual ideals,
      • Development - building and integrating social and familial support, engaging in meaningful community work, living balanced life, caring for body and health

3.  Meditation and Dhamma Dialogue

    • Profile: 
  •   Dr Selina Chew, is a certified hypnotherapist and a certified past life regression therapist who has been actively involved in the field of past life therapy since year 2004. She specializes in helping others heal and empower themselves through past life and in-between lives regression therapy. She conducts talks, private PLR sessions as well as group PLR workshops. She has regressed several hundreds of people of various ages and nationalities, individually and in groups, to their past lives as well as their life between lives. Through her work, she has helped her clients to be more empowered, reclaim their wholeness and have a greater understanding of their life¡¯s issues and challenges. Dr Selina Chew holds 3 different certifications in past life regression including the Dolores Cannon method of PLR.

  •   Dr Selina Chew holds a Ph.D in Holistic Life Coaching, an MBA, an LL.B (Hons) degree and masters degree in metaphysics, among others. She manages Life Inspirations (www.life-inspirations.com) which provides workshops and therapies to nurture the mind-body-spirit, to inspire people to reclaim their wholeness and help them realise their full potential.

    •   Ven Aggacitta Bhikkhu is a Malaysian who was first ordained in Penang in 1978 and received upasampada (higher ordination) at Mahasi Meditation Centre, Burma in 1979.
    •   He has trained under various teachers, notably Sayadaw U Pandita, Sayadaw U Tissara and Sayadaw U Acinna of Pa Auk Forest Monastery. Besides practicing meditation, he studied advanced Pali and translation in Thai and Burmese and continued to study the Pali Tipitaka in Burma until his return to Malaysia in 1994. In 2000, he founded Sasanarakkha Buddhist Sanctuary, a Theravada monk training centre in Taiping, Perak, Malaysia. Bhante Aggacitta has also initiated the highly successful Introduction to Monkhood Program to sow the seeds of renunciation among local men who have the inclination for monkhood.

    • Profile:
      • Dato Dr. Ananda Kumaraseri is a career ambassador of over 30 years standing. He retired in 1995 as Director General ASEAN. Since then he has authored several notable books on such important subjects as the cultivation of human values, personal development, holistic education and peace. He is a much sought after Dhamma Speaker in Malaysia and overseas. His recent treatise on holistic motherhood and parenting is widely used as a practical yet effective training manual for courses, on social ills and crimes such as drug abuse, AIDS, child abuse and gender inequality.
      • Dato Ananda Kumaraseri has carved a niche for himself in espousing the concept of living by Buddhism by emphasizing the practice and practical application of the Buddha’s Teachings in daily life.       • Ven. Vimokkha is the Abbot of Pipphalivanaram Temple in Rayong. He obtained his M.A. in Buddhism from Mahachulalongkorn University, Thailand. He is currently studying for his Doctorate in Buddhism at Mahachulalongkorn University, Thailand.
      • He has extensive experience in teaching Insight Meditation and has since been engaged by numerous organizations including Dhamnasathan in Chulalongkorn University, Saladhamma Temple in Pathumthani,  Ariyasom Temple in Sukhumvit, and Boonnives Temple in Dhammasathan, among others.
      • He has designed and conducted the popular program Development of Mindfulness and Awareness in the Work Place for various large private organizations across Thailand.
      • He is currently writing a book entitle ‘Development of Mindfulness and Awareness for Insight Meditation?
